  • Octopus Wants To Fight IPA

    Style: IPA - American

    ABV: 6.2    IBU: 88

Our pet octopus is a bit of a jerk. He’s that guy who has a couple then either tells you how much he loves you or threatens to fight you. So we brewed this IPA, with 8 varieties of hops and 8 types of malt. We targeted 88 IBU and 8.8% to appease him. Sadly, when he found out that we’d fabricated all of the above info, it only made him more volatile. We are starting to realize that Octopus was a poor choice for a pet.

  • Canuck Pale Ale

    Style: Pale Ale - American

    ABV: 5.2    IBU: 35

The minute you crack your can, aroma of grapefruit, mango and pine hit you in the face; like a beaver slapping his tail on a pristine small body of water in Ontario. Canuck pours a deep gold, bordering on burnt orange that produces a tight snowy white toque. Take one last nose before getting into the liquid, which you’ll soon find will be hard to put down. Soft carbonation leads into a sweet honeyish start before it gives way to more grapefruit, tropical citrus, canned peaches and pine. Light to medium body with a very dry finish. Drink at your local pub, in the fish hut, campground, the beach, in a canoe (responsibly), playing shinny, on a log…actually, anywhere north of the 49th.

  • Pompous Ass English Ale

    Style: Pale Ale - English

    ABV: 4.2    IBU: 28

Pompous Ass is our version of an English Pale Ale. We used an American ale yeast to brighten up the flavour and add our own contemporary blend of hops to ensure that even the most pompous ale drinker does a double take.

  • Karma Citra IPA

    Style: IPA - American

    ABV: 6.6    IBU: 65

News of any new hop coming from the Yakima Valley perks the ears of IPA brewers everywhere, but, with Citra, things were different. The buzz was bigger. As Citra's wave rolled across the land from the west coast we waited... and waited. Finally it crested, and a sample crashed into our pilot system. After brewing with it all the buzz made sense. Comments ranged from "Well that changes the game" to "It's so good it feels like we're cheating." Today we procure as much as Citra as we can to bring you as much of this IPA as our little brewery can muster. All hail Citra!

  • Lake Effect

    Style: IPA - American

    ABV: 7    IBU: 80

The weather channel describes Lake Effect snow as a “mass of sufficiently cold air moving over a body of water creating an unstable temperature profile in the atmosphere.” Who cares. This beer, however, has nothing to do with that drivel. It was inspired by a summer spent drinking heaps of IPAs on a stoop on Elmwood Ave. in Buffalo, NY.

  • THRUST! an IPA

Style: IPA - New England / Hazy

    ABV: 6.5    IBU: 40

Designed by NASA scientists, THRUST! is structured to attack you senses. First, it burns into your visual cortex the image of a beer with a deep copper hue topped with a rocky white head. Soon your olfactory bulb should be awoken as the massive dry-hop propels a penetrating aroma of grapefruit, mango, grape, stone fruit and lychee hurling into your forebrain. Resisting the impulse to keep smelling the beer, you pound back a gulp which illicits a poking and proding of tropical fruit and resin on your taste buds. Your pallet soon succumbs as THRUST! penetrates and perforates, eventually becoming your new reality. Citra & Columbus hops, Nelson Sauvin dry hop

  • Pumpkin Ale

    Style: Pumpkin / Yam Beer

    ABV: 5.5    IBU: 15

In our pursuit to bring you the most flavourful and unique beers possible, we are proud to release this tasty autumn ale. Handcrafted with an assortment of specialty malts and hops, we added a generous amount of pumpkin directly into the brew. Combine this with hints of cinnamon, clove, nutmeg and allspice, and you’ve got a beer that you won’t soon forget. Rich, satisfying and slightly spicy, our seasonal ale goes perfectly with your favourite dessert or traditional feast. But like fall, Pumpkin Ale comes but once a year!

  • Sunnyside Session IPA

    Style: IPA - Session

    ABV: 3.9    IBU: 25

Looks as beautiful in your glass as a lovely summer day at Sunnyside Beach. Gaze into the sun to get an idea of the colour of this unfiltered (brilliant gold, hazy) tasty treat, which is protected with a snowy head, reminiscent of white caps rolling on Lake Ontario. The citrus aromas leap from the glass with each gentle swirl. Lemon is the most prominent followed by pineapple and a touch of grapefruit. It’s so aromatic that you’ll want to forgo the sunscreen and apply generously to your person. Light body, juicy and refreshing, the same aromas make their way onto the palate, which are elevated due to the soft carbonation and mouthfeel. A dry finish with lingering pineapple notes, Sunnyside has all the flavours of a big GLB IPA packaged in

  • HazeMama

Style: IPA - New England / Hazy

    ABV: 7    IBU: 35

Only when the light is combined with the dark is the universe perfect and complete. Hazemama is an example of the sacred science of object interaction. This IPA features a unique yeast strain that is the essential ingredient in accessing a balanced and divine state of consciousness. It uses this ability to conjure a unique tropical profile by softening the bitterness while intensifying the hop bouquet. Hazemama grants us access to levels of perception otherwise unavailable to others, and puts an end to imbalance. Haze is our contact point with clarity on this visceral olfactory journey. Furthermore, brownies taste good.

  • RoboHop West Coast Double IPA

Style: IPA - Imperial / Double

    ABV: 8.5    IBU: 100

As a child, RoboHop was shunned for his laser beam eyeballs, bulbous hop-shaped torso and robotic limbs. During adolescence however, things changed for our hero. He captained his high school hockey team, routinely took over dance floors and , thusly, garnered a lot of attention from jealous classmates. Today, RoboHop battles blandness by making this killer-hoppy and bracingly-bitter beer. Suffer.

  • Winter Ale

    Style: Winter Ale

    ABV: 6.2    IBU: 15

Inspired by the long, cold and seemingly endless Canadian winter, our 6.2% alcohol Winter Ale is a true winter warmer. Handcrafted with specialty hops and malts, combined with generous amounts of cinnamon, honey, ginger and orange peel, this unique beer is brimming with flavour.

  • BURST! ... A New England Pale Ale

Style: Pale Ale - New England / Hazy

    ABV: 4.5    IBU: 20

Our planet, under threat by unseen enemies like bland tasting beer, is once again saved by the hop rockets of our unsung hero.

  • Devil's Pale Ale 666

    Style: Pale Ale - American

    ABV: 6.6    IBU: 66

The Devil, perched upon the shoulder of one of our brewers, whispered, with intensity, "Brew me a beer with 6 premium malts and 6 varieties of hops, at 66 IBUs, and 6.6% abv." The fire beneath the kettle bellowed. Dark clouds formed with each addition of west coast hops and specialty malts. Lightning flashed and thunder clapped. The brewer devised a plan. As the beer came to be, clouds parted, and pillars of sunshine beamed upon the brewhouse. The Devil may have coerced us into brewing this dark, bold and bitter Pale Ale, but the young brewer had made certain the beer did not contain all the 6's the Devil sought, rendering any evil forces in this beer futile. After all, the Devil doesn't brew beer. We do.

  • Miami Weiss White Pale Ale

Style: Wheat Beer - American Pale Wheat

    ABV: 4.5    IBU: 35

Okay, we're busted! We're calling this beer a weiss; it's not! We're suggesting it's from Miami; we've never even been there. Confused? So are we. What we know is it is an American style take on a traditional German wheat beer - A Pale Wheat. Rather than a mild hop presence, this baby is packed with Pacific Northwest hops. It's made with a pale ale yeast which doesn't produce the same banana flavour you find in German weiss beers. We also know that it goes down smooth and tastes terrific. So, what's with the name Miami Weiss? It's just something the guys in marketing came up with.

  • As Far Back As I Can Remember

Style: IPA - New England / Hazy

    ABV: 6.4    IBU: 40

A NE IPA made on the 7 Barrel system. As far back as I can remember, I always wanted to be a ... hipster. The tight jeans that don't reach my ankles. No socks no matter the weather. Selfies. Labradoddles. Biking without a helmet and sipping my fancy pants drinks in Trinity Bellwoods Park. I'm living the dream.

  • Limp Puppet Session IPA

    Style: IPA - Session

    ABV: 4.2    IBU: 25

"I was once a great entertainer who thrilled throngs of children with dance. Then my puppet master became a CGI whiz. Now I'm an inanimate object - a piece of cloth with asbestos stuffing and lifeless strings. I have no pulse and no soul. I do, however, have a rabid desire for revenge. Beware puppet master - I know where you live..."

  • Great Lakes Stout

    Style: Stout - Other

    ABV: 4.3    IBU: 8

A cheeky rebrand of our Shinny Pants Session Stout. Great Lakes Stout pours the darkest of brown, and has aromas of chocolate and lightly roasted coffee beans. With a light to medium body, the creaminess delivers notes of bitter chocolate, roasted malt, and espresso, yet finishes dry. Enjoyable year-round, his 4.3% Session Stout is a perfect companion to a skating rink or a campfire.

  • Saison Dupump

    Style: Farmhouse Ale - Saison

    ABV: 5.2    IBU: 15

*One fine autumn day, one of our assistant brewers accidentally pitched saison yeast into a freshly brewed batch of our pumpkin ale. While we all chastised him, the young brewer had faith that he had created something with potential. Well, the lad was right and Saison DuPump was born. *Note, the above story is entirely fabricated. Another unique offering from GLB, a Belgian Saison with pumpkin spices.

  • Great Lakes Premium Lager

    Style: Lager - Pale

    ABV: 5    IBU: 12

This retro label dates back to 1987, the year of our incorporation, and has been reborn in an effort to honour our past. The elements in the crest provide a glimpse into, well, we're not quite sure, but the design was ground-breaking in the 80's, so we're good with it. Great Lakes Premium Lager, a throwback to our humble beginnings.

  • Over My Dad Body Pilsner

    Style: Pilsner - German

    ABV: 5    IBU: 25

Just like Dad’s favourite playlist, this crisp and clean pilsner will have you dancing in your skivvies with each sip. Light and refreshing, yet complex and memorable. Sweetish malt notes up front with some traces of straw, grass and lemon are the highlights in both aroma and taste. Lightly hazy body ends with a crisp bittering finish. Let the good times roll.

  • Audrey Hopburn

    Style: IPA - Belgian

    ABV: 6.2    IBU: 55

This unfiltered Belgian IPA pours a hazy golden orange that produces a tight white head – really attractive. That signature Belgian yeast strain is evident from the first sniff, producing the spiciness one would expect in a Belgian beer. It’s complemented by grassy, piney hops that co-mingle with citrus (pineapple and lemon) that lead to a dry finish with a pleasant lingering bitterness. At 6.2%, it’s refreshing. Thirst quenching. Packed with flavour. A great example of a Belgian IPA that showcases the best of both styles.
